Doing an inspection last Thursday and we came across a live termite nest in the customers front retaining wall, we opened up the nest to determine the species and found it was Microcerotermes sp. A smaller subterranean mound building termite that has a square shaped head. As quick as we could open up the nest, a green ant leaped in and started having a feast. See the video.
1. Do not disturb them. If you do it may make it harder to get rid of them.
2. Do not try and use bug or surface spray, this will kill a few and the rest will hide.
3. Grab a good photo of the suspected termite(s).
