It goes without saying that modern day pest control is conducted safely with the wellbeing of not only your property in mind, but of your family and pets too. From aquatic pets to your more conventional cats and dogs, pest controllers have an obligation to use care and caution. To provide context, Alan provides an overview on the types of pest control out there:

Baiting Baiting consists of underground baits that attract termites. Consumption of these baits by termites lead to their eventual death. Alan explains that these baits provide for a zero chance of contamination - typically even less toxic than your regular table salt!

Chemical Treatments Conquer Termites prefer using Termidor (Fipronil) when treating termites. It’s safe and actually has the same active ingredient as Frontline - commonly used for tick and flea control for cats and dogs. Fipronil dosage is at about 10% its active weight, meaning extremely low toxicity levels. Pest controllers dilute these dosages even further by a ratio of about 1:150 when spraying landscapes. With Frontline being tolerated by cats and dogs on their skin, its even less “harmful” for humans, particularly at such low dosages.
