Conquer Termites Northside is not your typical termite and pest management team. Pushing the limits of a complete pest management service, Alan’s team from Conquer Termites Northside goes the extra, extra (extra twice) mile. Alan introduces the Thermal Camera as one of their major equipment in Termite Inspection. It is inside knowledge that termites bring in tremendous amounts of pressure in the structures in the house. To where termites crawl in and eat through, those spaces could get very humid, and this humidity and the moisture could bleed out through the walls and curves and ripples can be seen on its surfaces. Alan’s team uses a Thermal Camera to pick up the cool trace that is left in the wake of termites eating through the walls. Termites often operate in a logistically efficient manner where they bring in their young from the main colony and create a hub, or what Alan calls a ‘bivouac’, and settle temporarily within walls and other tight and closed spaces in the house. The termite MO is to create this bivouac, find a source of food, and find a source of water which brings in most of the moisture that ultimately destroys the structure of the house. That is why Alan advises all of their customers to fix any leaks or get rid of any stagnant water that could be gathering in the house as those can be used by termites as a water source. When the Thermal Camera finds a cool trace within the walls, those are most likely to be caused by termite activity. On the other side of the temperature spectrum, the bivouac can register in the Thermal Camera as a yellow ball inside the walls because of the heat produced in a very active hub of termites doing activities non-stop. Can this be happening in the very walls of your house?
